Healthy Shasta Thanks Local Restaurants Committed to Salt Savviness
Healthy Shasta would like to thank the restaurants and food service operators that participated in the recent Cut the Sodium, Keep the Flavor workshop.
On average, Americans eat more than twice the recommended sodium limit for most adults and at the training everyone learned 77 percent of the sodium we eat is already present in processed and restaurant foods.
One in three Shasta County residents has high blood pressure, and high sodium diets are scientifically linked to high blood pressure, which can lead to heart disease, stroke and kidney disease.
