Ride the Downtown Loop

The Downtown Loop trail connects downtown Redding to the River Trail. By June 2026, the last section of the loop will be complete. This section includes new multi-use paths from the Sundial Bridge, which skirt along the east and south ends of the parking lot and along the Civic Center lawn. A new four-way crossing at Auditorium Drive and Sundial Bridge Drive was added for safety and better connectivity. Additionally,  the sidewalk was widened on the overpass bridge crossing Highway 44 to connect with the Butte St bikeway. This project was a collaborative effort between the City of Redding, Shasta County HHSA Public Health branch, and Sequoia Middle School and funded by the California Active Transportation Program (ATP).
