Workplace Champions & Group Captains

Team up for the Bike Month Challenge!

Are you the office motivator and overall hype-person? Do you love riding bikes and wish others would too? Whoever you are, it’s really amazing when you encourage others to dust off their bikes, start riding, and experience all that joy.

What is a Champion?

Each workplace with a Love to Ride profile has a Champion. Your main focus is to encourage your co-workers to join your workplace profile and take part in the Shasta Bike Challenge. Your aim is to get as many co-workers as possible to register, ride, and log their rides. To rise to the top of the leaderboard, you want to get more people to log bike rides during the month of May and encourage others to take part. Workplaces who have the most points in the 7 workplace size categories will be entered into a drawing to win a custom Shasta Bike Challenge bike rack made locally by Gerlinger Steel.

The most important thing is to make sure the size of your workplace is accurately recorded so you are competing against those of similar size. If you have a large workplace and would like to break it up by department, that’s fine! Just make sure the size represents the total number of employees in that department- we want a fair competition.

There are a lot of resources available to you to help you spread the biking love at your workplace. Love to Ride has put together a Promo Pack to make it easy for you to communicate with your team. Download the Challenge Checklist to make promoting the Shasta Bike Challenge as easy as riding a bike!

Don’t forget to refer your team to the shastabikechallenge.org website so they can understand all there is to know about the challenge- How to register, how to download the Love to Ride all or how to connect to Strava, and all of the information on May 2024 events and community rides!

Join us on Friday, May 3rd from noon-1pm for a virtual Bike Month & Challenge info session (30 min info & 30 mins Q&A) to learn the details of the challenge, tips on how to motivate and engage your team, & get answers to all the questions you still have. Join the call with the link below:
