The Hunt is on for people looking to explore new trails across Shasta County and win fun prizes. The Golden Shoe Hunt is a part of Healthy Shasta’s 20 Year Celebration and runs from March 1st to March 23rd. Twenty golden shoes will be placed around Shasta County and hunters will use clever clues to seek out the location of each shoe. Every shoe found allows an entry into a Golden Shoe prize as well as an entry into the Grand Prize!
The Grand Prize is A Great Wolf Lodge Adventure Package that includes a $500 Gift Card to Great Wolf Lodge and a gas gift card!
The Golden Shoe prizes include gift certificates or memberships to Sun Oaks, Active PT, Phase 5, Fleet Feet, Bliss Fusion Wellness Center, Shasta Family YMCA and more!
Prizes will be distributed at the Celebration Walk on March 29th.
Age Requirement: Participants must be 13 years or older to enter.
Must be a Shasta County resident, or work in Shasta County to be eligible to win. Families of the Healthy Shasta Steering Committee and Partner Leadership Team are not eligible for prizes.
One Entry per Shoe: Submit one entry per shoe you find. (There are 20!). Duplicate submissions for the same shoe will not be counted.
Fair Play: Shoes are located in highly visible public areas. Do not move or take shoe.
Valid Submissions: Each submission must include Name, Age, and Contact Information to be eligible.
Entry Deadlines: Challenge runs March 1-March 23rd, 2025. All entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm on March 23rd, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
How It Works:
Find the Golden Shoes: Use the clues on Healthy Shasta’s website, www.healthyshastawalks.org, to locate one of the 20 hidden golden shoes placed in public spaces throughout Shasta County.
Scan the QR code or use the website link to access the entry form. Some spots do not have phone service, take a photo of the tag or write down the code word and shoe number.
Submit Your Entry: Complete this form to be entered into a drawing for individual prizes. Make sure you enter the code word (case sensitive).
Grand Prize: Every entry also counts toward the grand prize drawing!
* By submitting an entry, you consent to be contacted if you win a prize.
* Winners will be randomly drawn on March 24th, 2025.
* Winners will be notified by March 26th, 2025 with prize pickup details.
* Prizes will be distributed at the Family Fun Walk.

A family fun walk at Turtle Bay is planned for Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 10 am. The walk will be 2.5 miles, starting at the north side of the Sundial bridge at the entrance of the Gardens. The route will go through the Gardens, loop back on the Sacramento River Trail for its first mile and then will continue around the Arboretum loop, ending back at the Gardens. Walkers will get a sneak preview of the Glowing Wild show (opening the first weekend in April) then will enjoy beautiful views of the Sacramento River and finish with exploring the native plants and trees of the Arboretum loop. The walk is mostly flat with a few slight gradual hills. Walkers can do a 1-mile loop or continue to complete the full course of 2.5 miles. Start/finish will be at the Gardens – rain or shine!
