Gardening Toolkit

To help encourage healthy eating and increased physical activity, Shasta County Health and Human Services, Public Health Branch produced this Garden Toolkit through support from the Nutrition Education Obesity Prevention Program and the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Cal Fresh Program (formerly the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or Food Stamp Program).

Introduction

The purpose of the Garden Toolkit is to encourage the development of community gardens and to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables among food stamp eligible Shasta County residents. This toolkit supports a number of local, state, and national initiatives. Available Downloads:
